Governor Rick Scott is asking how to stop the mass shooting. The Only REAL solution is to get God and the teachings of the Bible (including the Ten Commandments) back into our schools. Teach people to LOVE one another!

The atheists have done a great disservice in removing God and Christian moral absolutes from our classrooms, government and society. They have a right to exist, but they do not have a right to silence our religious heritage, beliefs and freedom of religion.

We have noticed what is going on in the United States today – accusations of racism, bigotry, intolerance (by who do not know God or the ways of the Bible who are being racists, bigots and intolerant). Those are spreading this intolerant and bigoted racism thinking that they are doing something good.

What is needed in America is the Fruit of the Spirit –

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness Gentleness, Self-control. Let’s begin with Love

1. WHAT is the Love That is the “Fruit of the Spirit”?

The first and foremost on the list is Love… The world does not really know what real love is. Love is well defined in: I Corinthians 13:1-8a, 16:14; Galatians 5:22-23; II Peter 1:5-8.

In the end, all that really matters most is love. I Corinthians 13:13.

Love is life-changing because it covers a multitude of sins – I Peter 4:8. It covers your sins and the sins of those who have hurt you by their words or actions. When you love the person, you release yourself from the negative emotions and their side-effects. When you forgive, you no longer feel the anger, animosity, etc. That doesn’t mean you take them back into your circle, but simply that you stop hating them for what they have done to you in the past.

2. WHO Are We to Love?

a. Love God – Matthew 22:37-38; I Corinthians 8:3; I John 2:5 – this is where it all begins.

b. Love Jesus – John 14:21-24 – He died on the cross for YOUR sins.

c. Love Spouse – Ephesians 5:25-33; Titus 2:4; Colossians 3:19 – It makes the marriage work a whole lot better.

d. Love Neighbor – Matthew 22:39; Galatians 5:13-15; James 2:8 – Builds relationships and opens the door to witness to them.

e. Love One Another – John 13:34-35; Philippians 2:1-4; I John 2:10, 4:7-8; II John 5; I John 2:10, 3:14 – The Church

f. Love sincerely with brotherly love – Romans 12:9-10

g. Love Fellowman – Romans 13:8-10 – You want them to love you.

h. Love those who lord over you (government, employer, etc.) – I Thessalonians 5:12-13 – brotherly love will get respect.

i. Love Enemies – Matthew 5:43-45; Luke 6:27, 35 – That can be hard. It does not mean you have to associate with them though.

3. WHY Should We Love?

a. Love is more powerful than hate. Hate destroys and perpetuates evil. Love builds trust, helps relationships and overcomes evil.

b. Jesus has loved us – John 15:12-13, 17

c. We can’t love God and hate one another – I John 4:19-21

d. We will reap what we sow – Galatians 6:7-10.

Let’s work to show the world God’s love (while we hold them to God’s moral absolutes) and pray that we can love others to Christ.
